The Ashes Urn - Ceramic Replica. Comes packaged in a great plastic display. Same size as the original Ashes Urn. The original was created after England lost to Australia at The Oval on 29 August 1882 for the first time on home soil. A mock obituary of English cricket was published the following day and the concept caught on.
The contents of the terracotta urn that reside in the museum at Lord's are said to be burnt bails or a cricket ball but no one is really sure.
Fantastic to use as a trophy for backyard, beach or neighbourhood cricket.
